Our team leader Dimitar Satara has been working for smzh since May 2020 and has seen the company develop continuously. In this interview, you can learn more about his role as team leader, what makes smzh an exciting employer and how he recovers from his daily work routine.
What is your current function at smzh ag?
As a team leader and member of the management team, I advise private and corporate clients in addition to my leadership role.
What skills are essential in your position?
As a team leader, it is essential to understand your staff and know their strengths and weaknesses. Everyone brings their own knowledge and personality. You cannot manage every employee the same way. Commitment, time management, discipline, responsibility, planning and long-term growth with clients and employees always in focus.
What does a typical working day look like?
I like to be in the office very early. This allows me to get my to-dos done very well and quickly. I usually have meetings in the morning. Over lunch, I often use the time for sporting activities. Sport gives me a great balance to my working day. In the afternoons and evenings, I am there for my clients, advising them, accompanying them and answering their questions. I end the evening with a series or a book.
What do you like most about your job?
Putting cooperation at the centre and building long-term client relationships. Principles such as trust, respect and appreciation are paramount for me. It is great to see clients grow through the advice and to see their wishes and goals achieved. That makes me proud and will give me pleasure for a very long time to come.
What makes smzh ag stand out as an employer?
The professionalism and the opportunity to gain a foothold in different areas. Thanks to the know-how available in the company, you learn something new every day. In addition, due to sponsoring and partnerships, you are present at many events, can expand your network and get to know new personalities.
Is there someone or something that inspires you in your work?
The inspiration to be a support to someone fulfils me a lot.
What advice do you give to your peers about finances/provisioning?
It is better to think about your finances for an hour than to spend the whole month working for money. You can achieve a lot with small savings contributions. The compound interest effect and a broadly diversified portfolio make it much easier to build up capital. I recommend everyone to start thinking about old-age provision and capital investment as early as possible in order to examine the possibilities and opportunities at an early stage.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy training Brazilian JiuJitsu in my spare time and I really enjoy the community. Having played football for over 12 years, I enjoy following various championships and find it fascinating what you can do with a football. I like to spend time with my loved ones and travel a lot. I am always up for spontaneous getaways. However, I also like to retreat and read great biographies of people who inspire me.
What personal goals or projects are you currently pursuing?
I have many different goals and the list is long. The next thing on the agenda is a single-family house. Since I'm planning a family in the near future, this is a priority. However, the most important thing for me is that my loved ones want for nothing and always stay healthy.
Is there a talent or skill that you are particularly good at?
I think someone else would answer this better from a different point of view. I am convinced that I have the gift to understand people and put myself in their situation. Due to the high level of challenge in my everyday life, I am always ambitious and driven, both privately and at work.
