As partner of the Sport & Business Network (SBN), we took part in an exclusive Executive Luncheon at the Club Baur au Lac in Zurich on June 10, 2026. The event brought together high-ranking diplomats as well as prominent figures from business and sports.
Against the backdrop of the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence and the FIFA World Cup taking place in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the occasion was entirely dedicated to the partnership between Switzerland and the United States. The luncheon was jointly organized by SBN and the US Embassy in Bern. It was an honor to welcome Callista L. Gingrich, Ambassador of the United States to Switzerland, as the special guest. In her remarks, she emphasized the significance of US-Swiss cooperation in business, innovation, culture, and sports, as well as the importance of the partnership between the two countries.
One of the event highlights was the conversation with Gary Nagle, CEO of Glencore – one of the world's leading companies headquartered in Switzerland. He spoke about leadership in a global context, resilience, and Switzerland’s role in an increasingly complex world.
Among the guests were Giorgio Contini and Michael Hartweg as well as Corinne Suter, one of Switzerland’s most successful ski racers, who addressed the topics of perseverance and motivation in her speech. Her words and values resonated strongly with the business and entrepreneurship representatives in attendance.
A heartfelt thank you to Besfort Biljali and the SBN team for the outstanding organization of this special and exclusive luncheon. Once again, we greatly appreciated being part of this event and fostering exchange with many fascinating guests. Click here for a few impressions of the event:
