What is your current role at smzh? Has it changed already?

Currently, I am the Regional Manager at smzh, leading two teams - one in Zurich and the other one in Aarau. The role has evolved continuously; I started as a Junior Customer Advisor and have progressed year by year.

How long have you been working for smzh?

Its been 5 years already. I've been with them form the beginning.

What does a typical workday look like?

My workday starts with me being in the office by 08:00am at the latest, where I tackle my pending tasks in the morning, review and coordinate various cases (consultations) with my team. Usually, in the afternoon, we are on the go, visiting clients and conducting consultations with new customers.

What do you particularly like about your job?

I believe my greatest motivation is to help people, especially those who may find themselves in situations where they are overwhelmed and lose sight of their current options. It fulfills me to assist them in mastering everything in a way that makes sense for them.

What sets smzh apart as an employer?

A significant advantage lies in flexibility. I can shape my day flexibly and choose products for my clients based on their individual needs. Above all, it's important for us to find a tailored solution for each customer. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family. Since I am on business trips a lot during the week; i use my free time to be with my wife and our son.

What are your biggest dreams?

My dream is that my family is primarily healthy. Furthermore, my goal is to build a horse ranch one day where my family and I can live.

Has your behavior regarding finances and retirement changed since you started working in this field?

Of course, I am muchg more sensitized to this topic. In the past, I tended to avoid such topics or postpone them. Today, I am confronted with these matters daily and recognize the imporantce of these issues.

What advice do you give to peers about finances / retirement

To inform themselves early and, abvoe all, to invovle an independent partner in financial decisions.

What is your favorite sport? And do you play sports yourself?

Unfortunately, I am a bit short on sports. Nevertheless, we have the tradition every Wednesday afternoon where all interested employees go together to the Yakin Arena and have a football session there.

Do you have a book recommendation?

"12 Rules for Life" by Jordan B Peterson.

What is your favorite movie?

I don't have a favorite movie, but I have a favorite series: Suits on Netflix

What music do you like to listen to?

I listen to a variety of music genres, from classical music to house. However, on longer car rides, I tend to listen to podcasts about current events or financial topics.

What do you do to unwind after work?

I enjoy cooking to unwind. For me, it's pure relaxation.
