What is your current role at smzh? Has it changed recently?
I am Head of Client Portal. However, my responsibilities go beyond managing the client portal and also include the ongoing development of our digital platforms. My focus is always on further integrating business and IT in the long term, with the goal of shaping a future-oriented client experience.
How long have you been working for smzh?
I have been part of smzh since October 1, 2025.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
Given the short time I’ve been here and our dynamic environment, there isn’t really a typical workday. At the moment, I support ongoing projects, align initiatives with the teams, and work on process improvement. I often serve as a bridge between different departments, making sure no two days are ever the same.
What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
I find it especially fascinating to connect complex structures and make a real impact. It’s not just about optimizing systems, but also about shaping the technology-driven way of working for the future. The combination of strategic thinking and hands-on implementation motivates me every day.
What makes smzh unique as an employer?
At smzh, responsibility is truly put into practice. You are given the freedom to drive topics that have a lasting, positive impact on the company. At the same time, we work in an environment that places great value on quality, trust, and team spirit. This is not just a slogan, it’s something you experience every day.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring culinary delights.
What are your biggest dreams?
Constant progress: It’s important to me to continually broaden my horizon and build something with lasting value. This especially includes working on structures, products, or ideas that people will appreciate and rely on in the long term. Accordingly, I aim to invest my time and energy in things that are genuinely meaningful to me.
Has your approach to finance and retirement planning changed since working in this area?
I have been involved with these topics both professionally and personally for several years. Nevertheless, new and interesting perspectives continuously emerge, which influence how I manage my finances and retirement planning.
What advice do you give to peers on the topic of finance/retirement planning?
Consistent steps are more valuable in the long run than chasing short-term trends. To many people, the topic seems like a black box: complex, opaque, or intangible. But there are solutions tailored to every phase of life that can help people achieve their dreams or reduce financial worries. It is always worth having your individual situation analyzed holistically and planning the best way forward with expert advice.
What is your favorite kind of sport? And do you do any sports yourself?
I have been a passionate kitesurfer for 20 years. The combination of nature, technique, and adrenaline is unmatched, in my opinion.
Do you have a book recommendation?
"Factfulness" by Hans Rosling. The book offers a well-researched and refreshingly realistic perspective on our often sensationalized world.
What is your favorite movie?
"Inception" is one of my favorites. I enjoy movies that build complex structures and interweave multiple levels of reality, much like projects where many factors need to come together simultaneously.
What kind of music do you like?
That depends very much on the situation I'm in. As long as the audio quality is right, I don’t systematically exclude any genre.
How do you unwind after work?
I often reflect on the day and continue working on concepts and ideas. I enjoy keeping my mind active and further developing my thoughts.
