What is your current role at smzh? Has it changed recently?
In my current role at smzh, I am responsible for the entire recruiting process. This includes talent acquisition, conducting interviews, and implementing strategic measures all the way to contract negotiation and administration. I place a particular focus on active sourcing, the strategic expansion of recruiting activities, and enhancing the candidate experience. Over time, my responsibilities have expanded to include employer branding initiatives, the development of university marketing activities, and talent retention.
How long have you been working for smzh?
I have been working for smzh since spring 2025.
What does a typical work day look like?
A typical working day includes screening all incoming applications, sourcing for specialists, as well as coordinating and conducting interviews—for positions ranging from Junior Consultant to Team Lead and Branch Manager. My schedule also includes meetings with various stakeholders and external partners, including coordination with department heads and management, and communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. Regular alignment meetings with the executive board regarding the strategic orientation of our recruiting process, adjustments, and new initiatives are also part of my daily routine.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most in my role is the daily interaction with a diverse range of candidates. Every encounter comes with a new story, giving me the opportunity to learn something new every day. I also appreciate the broad spectrum of recruiting activities, which keeps my workday varied and exciting. Most fulfilling for me is the responsibility for all HR activities and the strategic direction of the recruiting process. These tasks allow me to actively contribute to the development and success of the company.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love experiencing new things – spontaneity and variety are essential for me. From calisthenics, salsa classes, swimming, and bouldering to portrait photography, I always keep busy. You’ll often find me at networking events, professional conferences, or out on the lake on my SUP.
What are your biggest dreams?
To inspire people and to see my family and friends happy.
Has your approach to finances and retirement planning changed since working in this domain?
The range of topics I deal with has expanded, and my financial knowledge has grown significantly. I have also broadened my network to include numerous specialists, allowing me to tap into valuable expertise.
What advice do you have for peers regarding finances/retirement planning?
Start early and seek support from specialists. ;)
What is your favorite sport? And do you play sports yourself?
With my 1001 sports activities, it’s hard to choose! I especially enjoy karate, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and salsa, but I’m always open to trying something new.
Do you have a book recommendation?
Yes, a special one that combines culture, history, and leadership insights: “The Book of Five Rings (Gorin no Sho)” by Miyamoto Musashi – written by one of the most legendary samurai of his era about the strategies of martial arts. One of his core messages: break new ground by going beyond conventional norms and advancing with an innovative mindset.
What is your favorite movie?
“Whiplash” by Damien Chazelle is definitely one of my favorite films.
What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
I listen to almost every genre – from R&B, pop, hip-hop, and jazz to classical and rock.
How do you unwind after work?
I really enjoy meeting up with friends or cooking – it’s the perfect way for me to relax.
