Talina Gantenbein at the Ski Cross World Cup 2023/2024
Soon it will be time for the Skicross World Cup again - it starts at the beginning of December and includes a stop in the charming mountain town of Arosa. We spoke to skicross skier Talina Gantenbein exclusively and asked her how she has been preparing for the event and what her per personal highlight will be.
The season is just about to start and preparations are in full speed. Are you ready?
Absolutely! I've had a very good preparation phase so far without any breaks and fortunately without any injuries. It was special that we travelled to South America for the second time. Thanks to a three-week ski camp with optimal snow conditions, I was able to benefit a lot and it was an excellent addition to my usual preparations.
What ambitions and goals have you set for the coming season and how do you plan to achieve them?
It is of great importance for me to start the season successfully like last winter. Nevertheless, I have the goal to perform consistently this time and to show my full potential in every race. I am especially looking forward to the race in St. Moritz in January. This date is new in the calendar because the World Championships will be held in St. Moritz in February 2025. That will definitely be an outstanding highlight!
Where do you see yourself at the moment, and how do you feel shortly before the start of the season?
At the moment I feel very good - my body is fit, I have full confidence in my abilities and my equipment and my performance in training has been exemplary so far. My goal is to continue these positive trends.
What do you expect from your home race in Arosa?
I always associate Arosa with good memories. Because of my first podium finish in Arosa, I am especially looking forward to it. Moreover, the race takes place in the evening and is accompanied by a unique atmosphere. Last but not least, it means a lot to me to know that there will always be friends and family, as well as numerous spectators on site. They make the event unique.
